With the introduction of the Nintendo Wii to the market, the system was introduced with lots of fanfare and excitement. Buyers were lined up at the stores ready to purchase one. The system ran out of stock at many of the retail stores and customers were buying them up to sell at higher prices on web sites like Ebay. However the real question is whether the system truly deserves all of the hype. Here's a breakdown of the Nintendo WIi specifications.
System Size & Specs - The Nintendo Wii certainly was designed with portability in mind. It is only 1.75 inches tall and weighs in at a light weight 3.84 pounds. There are many laptops that are larger than this. The processor power of the system is made by IBM PowerPC and it contains 512 MB of Random Access Memory. The Nintendo Wii also includes a flash card capability that can hold up to 512 MB of capacity. It has a video output made by ATI Hollywood for great visual effects. It can also play Nintendo Game Cube games as well as Wii games.
Built In Accessories - The game comes with two types of controllers. You can use an attachment joystick or a remote control device. These devices are wireless, which means no need to have to worry about long chords. The controllers also come with rumble feedback, speakers and even a motion sensor. You can have a maximum of four people play the game at one time. You can add video output and S-video output features as well, in addition to SD cards and Nintendo GameCube memory cards.
Additional Accessories - There are additional accessories that match the Nintendo Wii specifications as well. Some of these accessories include convenience accessories like an action kit or survival kit. Other accessories are for the purpose of playing specific games that come with the system.
Based on the Nintendo Wii specifications available, the system is certainly worth the price. However, understand that some of the accessories are almost useless and may not be worth the price. However, the bottom line is whether you enjoy playing the games and if you do, you should certainly consider purchasing it.
